Our Accredited Exercise Physiologists (AEPs) specialise in the prevention and management of chronic diseases such as: overweight/obesity, diabetes, arthritis, stroke rehabilitation, chronic back pain, osteoporosis and more.

MARK GEORGE - TEAM LEADER

As a dedicated Exercise Physiologist, Mark enjoys creating programs tailor made to the client’s individual conditions and needs.

Mark has a wide range of experience in completing clinical assessments, providing gym, pool or home programs to suit the client’s personal needs. As an Accredited Exercise Physiologist, Mark is able to treat a wide range of condition’s including musculoskeletal, diabetes, arthritis, osteoporosis, and respiratory disorders with special interest in cardiovascular conditions.

Marks friendly and positive attitude lends itself a supportive approach in educating clients on health and physical activity strategies. Previous to living in Australia, Mark worked as a cardiac therapist, treating numerous cardiac conditions and rehabilitating clients through their cardiac pathways.

Outside of work, he enjoys travelling and a wide range of sports including triathlon, ice hockey and inline hockey.

TAYLA HASLAM

As an ESSA Accredited Exercise Physiologist, Tayla specialises in providing home, pool and gym based exercise programs to help prevent and manage chronic conditions and/or injuries.

Tayla has an energy and enthusiasm that allows her to build strong and supportive relationships with a range of age groups from young children through to older adults.

She is passionate about providing her clients with the required approaches, and also the motivation to improve their physiological and psychological wellbeing through evidence based exercise programs.

In 2016, Tayla will complete Honours in Exercise Physiology at UniSA with a focus on evaluating the effectiveness of Strength for Life, an exercise program designed for older adults.

Louise has always had a strong interest in health, exercise and having a positive influence on the lives of others, which culminated in a career in Exercise Physiology.


As an ESSA Accredited Exercise Physiologist, she is passionate about enabling others to manage their conditions and injuries through exercise and movement. In addition to her evidence-based exercise prescription, she uses education and long-term behaviour change strategies to affect the most meaningful difference in her client’s lives. She works collaboratively with her clients to find a form of activity that they enjoy, as there’s no one right way to exercise.


Louise thoroughly enjoys working with people and empowering them to discover the benefits of exercise for not only their physical but also mental wellbeing.


Outside of work she enjoys playing netball, travelling and spending time with friends and family.

TOM ADLER

Tom has always been very passionate about exercise, physical activity, health and playing sport. Connecting with his easy going and friendly personality, he has an ability to build great client rapport, which has enabled Tom to find Exercise Physiology to be the career that is best suited to him.

 

As an ESSA Accredited Exercise Physiologist, he believes that by using evidence-based prescription and by building strong connections with his clients, he can motivate them to make simple changes to their lifestyle to help assist with the management of their chronic conditions.

 

Tom can also help direct and assist his clients along the path to full recovery by instructing them in injury rehabilitation and prescribing them with suitable programs. He enjoys working with his clients to set realistic and achievable goals. This can develop their understanding of how exercising regularly, as well as implementing a balanced diet, needs to become a habitual routine and not just something that is achieved for a short period of time.  This helps to facilitate the improvement of their overall quality of life, as well as motivating them to create long term exercise and health habits.

 

Outside of work he enjoys playing football and cricket, attending sporting events and spending time with his family and friends.

JESSICA SPANOS

Jess has always been passionate about health and fitness, with more than 8 years’ experience working within the exercise delivery field. She has always had a special interest in rehabilitation and helping people manage their chronic health conditions, so with her strong work ethic and excellent interpersonal skills it was a natural progression for Jess to become an Accredited Exercise Physiologist.

As an ESSA qualified Exercise Physiologist Jess has a strong belief in client centred evidence-based health care and exercise prescription as well as giving her clients the best tools possible to help manage their health and exercise long term. Because of this Jess has a strong desire to upskilling her knowledge through high quality research evidence. Jess enjoys helping you find the type of exercise that works best for you, as she knows that long term commitment to the management of health ensures long-term success.

ALEX GAJEWSKA

Alex first became interested in exercise physiology through involvement in lung rehabilitation, where exercise was used to manage chronic lung conditions. She saw how the benefits extended beyond health outcomes by improving the quality of life of these individuals.

As an ESSA accredited exercise physiologist Alex has built on this interest and is able to use exercise to manage a range of clinical conditions. Working at SA Aquatic centre, Alex utilises the excellent facilities to provide home, gym or water based programs to tailor a program centred on your needs and goals.

Alex strives to build confidence in her clients and facilitate ways in which they can incorporate exercise into their life so that they can better manage their conditions and enjoy the benefits of the work they put in.

Outside of the centre, Alex coaches a women’s cricket team and is always on the lookout for new recruits. If she sees you wielding a medicine ball on the gym floor she might just sign you up.
