INVICTUS SWIM TEAM CALL OUR SAALC HOME

Invictus

Eight of Australia’s best Invictus Games Swimmers are calling our SA Aquatic and Leisure Centre (SAALC) home for the next few days.

Lead by Sapper Thomas Foster, brother of Marion Swim Coach and South Australia’s/SA Aquatic & Leisure Centre’s very own dual Olympian Sally Hunter (nee Foster), the team are putting themselves through their paces before the October Invictus Games in Sydney. The camp serves an opportunity to train alongside some the World’s best swimmers including Kyle Chalmers and his SASI and Marion Swimming Club team mates. The coaches of SASI and Marion are also assisting the Team in preparation to have our swimmers and ex-serviceman at their best.

The hosting of this camp has been a collaboration of the SAALC operators, the YMCA (who do a huge amount of work with our Veteran Community), SASI, Marion Swimming Club and the RSL.

Federal Member for Boothby the Hon. Ms. Nicole Flint MP, State Member for Colton (and pool name sake) the Hon. Matthew Cowdrey OAM MP, Olympic Gold medalist Kyle Chalmers OAM and Olympian Gold Medalist Maddi Wilson OAM will be on hand along with RSL Care CEO Nathan Klinge, YMCA CEO Haydn Robbins and General Manager of the SA Aquatic and Leisure Centre Adam Luscombe to give a few tips and support the team this Saturday.

The team members: Andrew Wilkinson, Dean Knoble, Able Seaman Mark Daniels, Scott Reynolds, Sapper Thomas Foster, Corporal Taryn Barbara, Corporal Sonya Newman, Paul Schindler (Swim coach), Geoff Stokes (Head swim coach), Travis Watt (Psychologist), Douglas Falconer (Doctor).
